Classes are starting at the MuseRoom this month! Currently scheduled classes include blockprinting, oil painting, encaustic painting, watercolors, calligraphy, and more.  Also coming up are a two-day sumi painting workshop with guest artist Yuming Zhu, and an afternoon collage workshop with Judith Devine, whose work will be on display this month at Muse.

For young artists, we'll soon be adding afterschool classes and  Spring Break offerings. And for the very little ones, morning sessions for parents and toddlers to make their first masterpieces together will happen every other Tuesday at 10:30am starting March 4.

If you're thinking about signing up for a class and would like to get a preview, mark your calendar for the MuseRoom Open House and Demonstration Day, when MuseRoom teachers will give you a sample of what they'll be teaching.  Join us anytime Saturday, March 8 from 10am to 5pm, for free demonstrations all day.

You can read full descriptions of MuseRoom classes at our online class schedule.

We're still adding classes to the calendar, so if you'd like to teach a class, we'd love to hear your ideas! instructor information and class proposal form

graham colorsNew Products

Local paintmaker M.Graham has introduced a new palette of 35 additional watercolors.  M.Graham paints are loaded with the most vivid nonfading pigments.  The secret ingredient in these watercolors is honey, which keeps them moist, workable, and longlasting on the palette.

In response to many requests and recommendations, we've also added the full line of M.Graham gouache, a paint with a velvety opaque finish and the same vivid pigments as Graham watercolors.

boardbookHere's a really fun new product that instantly sparks creative ideas: blank board books.  These cute little books have thick pages just like picture books for toddlers, but with blank pages ready for you to draw or paint yourself.  Great for one-of-a-kind art projects, gifts, personal art journals, or three-dimensional collage projects!

Southeast Area Artwalk

Save the date!  Keep at least one day open during the first weekend of March for the Southeast Area Artwalk.  On Saturday and Sunday, March 1 and 2, more than 90 artists will be showcasing their work in inner Southeast neighborhoods.  The Artwalk is a great way to see lots of inspiring art, meet local artists, and support their work by purchasing a special piece or two (or more!).  This is the fifth year for this fun event, and each year the weather has been great for a beautiful Spring walk!
