Classes and Workshops at Muse
Introducing the "MuseRoom"

Perhaps the most frequently asked question at Muse is whether we offer classes. The answer is now "YES"! We're expanding into a cute little building just half a block away so that we'll have our own space for classes, workshops, and demonstrations.

If you are interested in taking a class or workshop, stay tuned! We'll be posting class schedules and information on our website shortly.

If you would like to TEACH a workshop or ongoing class beginning as soon as February, we'd love to hear from you. Please download complete information about the MuseRoom along with an application for instructors using the link below. You can also pick up a copy at Muse.

 January 7 - February 16.
reception: January 24

Now through February 16, we'll have work by wildlife artist Laurie Grove on exhibit. Grove has won numerous awards for her art and has sold her drawings and paintings in 47 states and more than 10 countries. This exhibit of oil painting and graphite drawings celebrates the beauty, personality, and majesty of big cats.

Laurie is actively involved in giving back to the animals that inspire her work. Twenty-five percent of the proceeds from her show at Muse will be donated to the Oregon Zoo to help fund the Predators of the Serengeti exhibit, slated to open in 2009.

You are invited to a reception to meet Laurie on Thursday, January 24 from 5 to 8 p.m.

artist panelsNew Products and Sales

Artist Panels from Ampersand, makers of Claybord and Gessobord, are new, value-priced hardboard panels suitable for painting with acrylics or oils. In product tests with artists, Ampersand found that many painters prefer the control of a rigid surface over the bounce of stretched canvas. But artists still preferred the fine texture of canvas to the slippery-smooth surface of panels. The canvas-like texture of these new panels gives painters the best of both worlds! Available in 14 different sizes: from 4"x4" to 18"x24", and three thicknesses: 3/8", 3/4", and 1 1/2".

Muse is offering a "permanent sale" on Ampersand Artist Panels at 20% off the suggested retail price found in other stores. To encourage you to give Artist Panels a try, we'll discount them an additional 10% through January.

Also through January, to help you get your studio set up for a new year of art making, Muse is offering 15% OFF easels and paint brushes.
