Muse
Art and Design, your locally owned art supply store in SE Portland,
has been open for six months – time for a Grand Opening celebration!

This month, the first
of our meet-the-artist receptions will double as a Grand Opening celebration.
Join us Saturday, June 11 from 2-4 pm to enjoy mixed media works
by Chris Pierce, watercolors by Stephen Kleier, and colorful
oils by Suzanne Stoughton. We’ll also
hold our first weekly prize drawing—visit the store
between now and June 11 to enter!

STRETCHED CANVAS:
Sale Prices: June 5 – July 3
Lowest prices yet! Our stretched canvases in all sizes are
regularly priced at more than 30% off suggested retail
price. This month, get an extra discount of 50% off manufacturer
suggested retail price.
ACRYLICS, WATERCOLORS, and OILS:
Sale Prices: June 5 - 25
We regularly offer all our paints at 15-40% below suggested
retail price. This month, we’ll offer extra discounts–up
to 50% off suggested retail–on many popular brands
including Golden, Gamblin, and M.Graham. In addition, we’ve
extended our introductory pricing on Williamsburg handmade
oil paints through August – 30% off suggested retail
price!
BRUSHES:
Sale Prices: June 12 to July 3.
* Princeton brushes are unbeatable for their combination
of price, quality, and durability. This month they’ll
be a full 50% off manufacture suggested retail price, (regularly
40% off suggested retail.) Sale includes the popular Synthetic
Sables for watercolor; Miniature Detailers; Natural Bristles
in a good-quality value line and a beautiful top quality
line with copper ferrules; extra tough and springy Synthetic
Bristles great for heavy applications; and stiff-yet-soft
Synthetic Mongoose for great control in acrylics and oils.
* Just in are beautiful craftsman-made Isabey Stradivarius
sable and squirrel brushes, made for watercolor but great

Selected pencils and colored pencils will be 20-40% off
suggested retail price, including Lyra and Prismacolor
in singles and sets. Prismacolor pencils are loved for
their brilliant colors and soft texture. The rich colors
of Lyra colored pencils are excellent for layering and
blending, with no wax buildup. Lyra drawing pencils lay
down clean lines and dense shading with a wonderful smooth
feel.
PRIZES Thanks to our generous suppliers, we have some great prizes
to give away. Enter our weekly drawing every time you come
to Muse in June and win items from Sharpie, Gamblin, Liquitex,

be held each Saturday, June 11- July 3. You need not be

Eyes: Studio art classes for young people who love seeing
and doing. Taught by experienced
and enthusiastic
artists/educators (and parents) Laura Bender and John Early
in their studio near Ladd’s Addition. Weekly theme-based
classes will engage the head, heart and hands, encouraging
the balanced unfolding of each child's splendid gifts.
