Each week throughout the summer, we'll have special sale pricing on different items.

June 25-30 marks the launch of Portland's own international animation festival! The Platform Festival will feature screenings of animated works from all over the world, including many by local artists.

Muse is sponsoring a Festival event for participants to customize their own vinyl toys. "Custom vinyl" is a booming international art form, with influential artists and designers based right here in Portland.

We need a few artists to help participants with painting ideas and techniques. We'll be having a brief orientation on Monday, June 18 at 7:00pm.

Volunteers are requested to work at least one shift from 3:00-7:00pm between Tuesday, June 26 and Friday, June 29. Festival passes are available according to the number of hours worked.

We've been listening to your requests and scouting the market for what's new. There are so many new items on their way this summer that we'll save the details for our next Museletter. Here are a few highlights that have already arrived:

Flashe Vinyl Paint: A matte finish similar to gouache, but insoluble when dry. Versatile for many surfaces and techniques. Perfect for quick- drying underpainting beneath oils. Rich, opaque colors, but also great for layers of watercolor-like washes because it can be thinned with lots of water and still sticks well without lifting up.

Pentouch white and metallic paint markers: broad, fine, and extra fine tips. White is really white and metallics are really shiny!
