"SUBLINATION" A SHOW OF RECENT WORKS BY NATION

We're pleased to announce "SUBLINATION," an exhibit of recent works in oils by Portland-based artist, (and Muse employee) Nation. Nation’s work combines a refined mastery of the oil-painting medium with a bold and strikingly individual imagination. Stylistically, the work may remind viewers of the paintings of traditional masters, but Nation’s themes and handling of subjects are distinctly contemporary. Nation’s paintings portray individuals ranging from historical figures to modern icons in settings that invite viewers to explore thoughts and feelings about a wide range of ideas and beliefs. Although highly detailed and realistically rendered, Nation’s expressive portraits are not intended as narrative or allegory, but evoke moods independent of specific stories and meanings. "Sublination" will be on display from November 6 through January 7 at Muse Art and Design. Join us for a reception on Thursday, November 10 from 7:00 to 9:00pm.
