Since acrylic paints make it easy to jump right in and start painting, artists can overlook the extended range of possibilities that different paints and mediums offer.
Acrylics can be thin like ink or thick like paste, quick drying or very slow drying, highly concentrated or ready to apply from the container — and with acrylic mediums, you can alter and extend paints to the limits of your imagination! The brief descriptions below highlight the features of many of the acrylics we offer. Come in and talk with us about the endless possibilities of painting with acrylics!
Heavy Body, Fluids, High Flow and OPEN (slow-drying) make up a complete system of professional-quality acrylic paints. The concentrated colors can be extended, thinned, and texturized with Golden mediums. Also ideal for mixed media and printmaking including block printing and screen printing.
Holbein Heavy Body Artist Acrylics:
Holbein Acrylics can be brushed into thin, very smooth applications, but they’ll retain peaks and ridges when applied thickly. Textures and effects can be greatly expanded with acrylic mediums. The 113 colors (including flourescents and metallics) blend, layer and mix beautifully. This paint provides artists a good amount of working time, superior covering power, and a wide range of permanent, brilliant colors.
M. Graham Acrylics:
M. Graham paints have a creamy, workable consistency that spreads and blends beautifully. The rich colors are saturated with high-quality pigment so they can be extended with matte or gloss medium to make this affordably priced paint an even better value. Made locally in the Portland area.

MEDIUMS + GROUNDS
Use Golden acrylic gels and mediums to extend colors and alter the consistency, transparency, texture, and sheen of acrylic paints for an unlimited range of effects. Golden mediums and textured grounds are also excellent for drawing and mixed-media using papers, textiles, digital printing, inks, and clays. Professional-quality water-based and solvent-based varnishes will give your paintings an even sheen and protect them from surface damage.
Holbein Acrylic Mediums and Grounds:
These quality mediums enable artists to extend colors, prepare surfaces for acrylic paints, create a range of textures, and adjust the level of gloss. A special feature of Holbein mediums is that they are packaged in sturdy resealable pouches that make them easy to measure out onto a palette or painting surface and prevent drying by making it possible to squeeze excess air out of the container.
Maimeri Acrilico Mediums:
Value-priced Acrilico gloss and matte gels, modeling pastes, irridescent medium, and varnishes all come in large 750 tubes for convenience of use — just squeeze onto your palette or painting surface!
